Great Blog! Thanks for lettin’ me in! I’ll pass it on to my friends!
L.S.,
Ted Vanderende must be my old schoolmate Theo van der Ende; we graduated from our secondary school ‘RijksHBS’, Schiedam, Holland, fifty years ago next june.
25 of us should like to meet him.
I hope you will inform him on this occasion.
I apologize for having used your reply-method.
With respect,
Hans van Iperen
Dear Hans,
Greetings from Frankfurt.
Your ‘Theo’ sounds like our ‘Ted’. I will immediately alert him to your post.
Many thanks.
David, for Canter Bridge
It is wonderful to find another blog with other Rhodesian Ridgeback lovers.
Marion,
Welcome! I looked at your dogs on your blog. They’re beautiful, especially the Rhodesian. My dear, dear Tucker–a Black Labby–died six months ago. That’s when we began to think about getting a second Ridgeback. Sammy came to us in that way.

David, You mentioned that itunes do a free song each week. Do you download these via the itune store? I’m stumped and not at all techno-savvy.
Hi again, Lorna.
Licensing agreements and other factors may mean that what I see on iTunes is different from what you see when you access iTunes from Oz.
With that caveat, here’s what I do: I go to iTunes, scroll all the way down, and locate the ‘free’ items. Several of them are audio files. The majority are video. I typically harvest three or four songs per week, legal and free, from iTunes in this way. I hope this helps. All best, David
Hi David
Today was spent listening to Rev Dr Colin Greene author of “Metavista”. He, like you, inspired us with selections of his favourite music and I am now apparently moved to share these with you (!). Go figure.
1. from the album Hopes and Fears by Keane, a song “Somewhere only we know”
2. from the album Day and Age by The Killers, a song “The World we live in”
3. “November Rain” Guns and Roses
4. and my personal favourite from Leonard Cohen’s Live in London album . . . “If it be your will”
Also from a newly discovered (for me that is) Australian singer/songwriter Claire Bowditch “A Lucky Life” and “Modern Day Addiction”
The world is waiting for your compilation of inspirational songs. And I’m very happy to add to the muscial mix for your selection. For what it’s worth.
Take care, go well
Lorna

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Charleston, S.C. / January 11, 2011—Jill Woodruff, daughter of legendary University of Washington football coach Don James, is proud to announce the publication of her book, The Coach’s Daughter…A Journey into God’s faithfulness ($14.99/CreateSpace). This 222 page autobiography will put to rest once and for all any questions you might have as to whether or not God really does exist and whether He is active in the lives of His children.
Jill shares with her readers about a car accident that changed her life, a medical condition that left doctors puzzled and Jill a prisoner in her own home, and a descent into darkness with a supernatural dimension. Disappointments along with successes, both on and off the football field, are sprinkled throughout The Coach’s Daughter…A Journey into God’s faithfulness.
Intertwined throughout her autobiography, Jill incorporates personal stories about the man known to Husky Football Fans as the Dawgfather. Stories only an insider would know; an insider like The Coach’s Daughter. Also intertwined throughout the book are personal stories about the faithfulness of God in Jill’s life. Her journey will encourage you to draw nearer to the God who has, and always will, love you.
Coach Bill McCartney, founder of Promise Keepers writes “She displays humility and resolve is crisis after crisis. You have to ask the question – did the coach ever have a football player with the character and fortitude of his own daughter?” (From the foreword).
Whether a Husky fan, football fan, or just a fan of life in general, The Coach’s Daughter…A Journey into God’s faithfulness is a book for you. It is available for purchase on Amazon.com.

Oops. I hope I did this correctly – sending you my press release in this manner and all.
Hello Chief, is the first time I read about Canter Bridge and I liked it, I’ll keep reading your comments which undoubtedly help me grow in my faith.
Thanks!
¡Bienvenido, amigo, a la pequeña comunidad de Canter Bridge! Espero que estés super bien.
Hi – I came here because I saw your five-star review of the audiobook of The Pickwick Papers on Amazon, and you gave this website address. As you obviously liked Pickwick, I thought you might be interested in hearing about my new novel Death and Mr Pickwick, which will be published by Random House in May. It tells the story behind the creation of The Pickwick Papers, and you can find out more at: http://www.deathandmrpickwick.com
I am sorry it is not yet available as an audiobook…but one day, who knows?
Best wishes
Stephen Jarvis
Just found this blog and really finding the entries insightful and thought provoking. Amazing work David!
Hi, Julie! I’m really happy that you’ve found your way to Canter Bridge. Thanks for your generous words about my little hobby.
Hi! Just browsing. Soli deo Gloria. Derek
How much I and we appreciate your letters and your reflections. May all the dominos fall right into place—-God bless you both
Dear Mr. Baer,
Warm greetings from JEMYCO team.
This is Radar, the founder of brand JEMYCO. Here I want to say “ Thank you” to you with all my heart.
As the founder of a new brand and also a new father of a kid, everything is not easy at the beginning (I’m sure you can imagine that). But your honest review and feedback have given me great encouragement, I will stick to my dream and keep moving forward.
Just like you, I love my family and enjoy my life. The initial spirit of JEMYCO is to improve people’s life by providing reliable products. We believe everyone can be the artist of his/her life.
I’m writing this email to you to prove what you’ve done and what you believe have great value (“I like to think my reviews might encourage a few people to pursue worthwhile endeavors”). At least I will try my best to be a good man like you, and I shall not regret my decisions when I’m old 🙂
I read through your self-introduction that you have been to many countries, I’m not sure if you’ve ever been to China. If you have any plan to come in the future, please remember that you’ve got a friend here in Guangzhou.
I wish you and your family all the best!
Yours Sincerely,
Radar L.
