This relatively inexpensive Citizen Quartz watch has a thin profile and swings easily on the wrist. Mine is identical to the Amazon site photo except that the entire band is gold colored rather than alternating with stainless steel silver. (more…)

Two Nashville gentlemen who have mastered the task of teaching men to be gentlemen without coming across as stuffy wrote this splendid little volume on the art of the toast. As in the rest of the Gentlemanners books, John Bridges and Bryan Curtis set a tone that is not framed by rules but by consideration for others and deference to those who ought to be in the limelight of a special occasion. I spend enough time in my car on business to justify satellite radio. It squeezes out the dead zones between major urban areas and the quality stations that emanate from them. For my son, it provides him with Universo Latino and, so, the Latin music with which he grew up. (more…)

This tiny gift-book from Cigar Aficionado latches onto the celebratory nature of modern cigar-smoking and works it for all its potential. Essentially, it’s a compilation of quotes by cigar smokers and about cigar smoking that will give the average celebratory cigar smoker a good chuckle.

I spend a lot of time in the car and love music and spoken audio. My 2004 Volkswagen Passat W8 has excellent sound but no satellite radio. I recently sprang for a Sirius radio off the shelf from Costco and then had reliable Jason and the guys at Auto Outfitters take care of the installation. I use a cassette adapter wired to the radio for sound input and the hiss was bringing the quality level of the music down to the barely tolerable level. (more…)
