The New International Version of the Bible may well be the most researched and carefully edited English presentation of the Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek biblical texts every produced. Though it has generated successors, the NIV is still a worthy choice for the Bible reader.
This thinline version, though leather bound, is a pleasantly compact and sturdy volume. My version does not have the Deuterocanonical (or ‘apocryphal’) books treasured by Roman Catholic readers. It does have a basic concordance, a handy set of maps, and a number of incidental add-ons to the text of the Bible itself.
The print is medium-sized rather than small. Zondervan has kept things slim by minimizing the margins and using very fine, though not flimsy, paper.
Very high value here.
